FIRST WEEK

As I stepped into the classroom for my school internship phase 2, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. The internship began on 27 November 2024, and I was allocated to NRPM HSS, Kayamkulam 🏫. On the first day, we were warmly welcomed by the school authority, and we signed the attendance register in the HM office. I was impressed by the cooperative and caring nature of the teachers and school staff, who ensured that we felt comfortable and supported throughout our internship.

As I began my teaching journey, I was allotted the class 8 D, and I was delighted to find that the students were cooperative and enthusiastic. We had a brief introductory session on the first day, and from the second day onwards, I started taking classes. I made sure to incorporate many facts of Physics and Chemistry into the teaching and learning process, rather than just teaching lessons. The students were engaged and interactive, and we had a wonderful time exploring the subjects together. I was thrilled to see the students' faces light up with excitement as they grasped new concepts and ideas.

One of the most heartwarming moments of my internship was serving midday meals 🍚🍛👩🏼‍💻 to the students. It was a humbling experience, and I was grateful for the opportunity to connect with the students on a more personal level. In addition to teaching, I also had a whirlwind of substitution duties, stepping into various classrooms and adapting to diverse subjects and groups. While it was challenging, it was also an incredible learning experience that helped me develop my flexibility and adaptability.

The highlight of the week, however, was organizing a quiz competition 📝👭👩🏼‍🏫, which was met with enthusiasm and excitement. Watching students collaborate, compete, and celebrate their knowledge was incredibly rewarding and a reminder of the joy of learning. This week truly encapsulated the dynamic and fulfilling nature of teaching, and I felt grateful to be a part of it. As I reflected on my first week of internship, I realized that I had begun to gain enough confidence in my teaching. I felt more conscious and natural in the classroom, and the students had started to attach themselves to me, considering me as their best friend 🥰. Overall, the first week seemed to be good, and I was satisfied with it.
