The initiation of my school internship........ This School
internship is the first hand experience as a teacher in my life. The very well
beginning as a teacher gets started and it was a memorable one. I filled with a
mix of excitement and nervousness during the first two days. The Principal,
Mrs. JayasreeMa'am welcomed us warmly. I was allotted to NRPM Higher Secondary
School, Pullukulangara along with the rest of my six colleagues.
Although we weren't assigned any classes for teaching due to the ongoing first terminal examination, we were entrusted with various responsibilities. Our tasks included investigating duties, arranging the examination hall, and assisting our senior teachers in collecting answer sheets from students. It was a great learning experience, and I enjoyed every bit of it! We took some memorable photos for our blog at 4 p.m. before leaving the school.
On Day 2 (September 5th), we continued with our exam duties, ensuring the smooth conduct of the examination. We were assigned to invigilate classes, distribute question papers, and collect answer sheets. It was a busy day, but I learned a lot about the importance of discipline and time management during exams.
Day 3 (September 6th) was similar, with us assisting in the examination process. However, we also got to observe some classes and interact with students, which gave us a glimpse into the teaching experience. We were appreciated by our senior teachers for our help and support, which boosted our confidence.
Overall, my first week of teaching practice has been a valuable learning experience, even without teaching classes. I'm looking forward to the days ahead, where I'll get to teach and interact with students more.
